Goddess of the Spring and Summer, Persephone brings the renewal of life. Plants grow, animals come out of hibernation and crops become ripe and ready for harvest. Persephone is also Queen of the Underworld (during autumn and winter) after she was abducted by Hades. She is the daughter of Demeter(Goddess of Harvest) and Zeus. Without these two women, life on earth would expire.
